My artwork is a visual expression of my attempt to understand the world, and why it is both a terrible and wonderful place. The nature of good and evil, the juxtaposition of innocence and violence, hybridity, transformation and alienation are some of the recurring themes in my work. I create mysterious, melancholy narratives inspired by fairytales and folklore that raise questions about human behavior. Houses, boats, knives and animal/human hybrids are common motifs. I am continuing to build a personal iconography with which to visually articulate my personal experiences and thoughts. My practice is interdisciplinary, including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, paper-cutting, and animation, often combined in site-specific installations.
